Dumb question: Are side mirrors foldable on 2005 Tacoma?

I tried folding the side mirrors but they aren’t moving easily and didn’t want to brake them. So are they manually foldable?

At the bottom of the pivot area are a couple fasteners. I wanna say one is 10mm socket and one is torx, I don’t remember the size. I had to tighten mine because they folded too easily and started moving around.

I think the torx is the pivot. You could try loosening it a bit to see if it folds easier.

 

BTW, there are no dumb questions here, unless you wanna count asking what kind of motor oil.

 

As far as I’ve seen most do, unless you have some obscure super base model we don’t know about. Ask to learn if someone else has messed up already good stuff. Stay teachable.

Thanks all. I got them to fold by loosening to torx screws slightly.

 

I didn’t even know this. I have a 2007 and they always looked like they should fold but I tried once and was taking more effort than I thought they should. Never tried after that. But also never really needed to.

Yeah mine do fold in. Have any of you put on extenders? For when you pull a trailer.
