Deleted it. Need help trying to figure out how to change the struts. I have the be strut and can locate the strut mounts. Also what was that BMW strut mount part number. I hear if you invert those they will work.

We are talking about the coil spring strut right? I saw your other thread, but I don't know about the Trailmaster lift, so I don't want to give you advise that may cause failure in your lift kit.

Edit: if you are talking about the part in your picture above connecting the UCA to the spindle, I don't know anything about a BMW strut. It should be the same as a strut replacement.

I have the be cartridge struts now. How do I disassemble- insert vw cartridge strut- and reassemble. Also what BMW strut mount bushing can I use for the upper strut mount?

Doubl3aron, I am not sure what your asking about. If you are asking about the true strut assembly as in the suspension coil spring, etc. below is how you can change it out. The process to replace the upper ball joint is essentially the same as you are going to have to disconnect the upper ball joint (or whatever that connection is between your spindle and UCA bracket???) based on the picture you sent. Note, these pictures are off of my truck. I do not have a drop bracket lift so it will look a lot different.

Put a Jack under the lower control arm/ball joint (don't bust off a grease zerk if you have one). LOOSEN (do not remove the castle nut) off the Upper Ball Joint (or your spindle mount thing).

Remove the Tier Rod (outer), sway bar link and loosen the upper ball joint with a big ass hammer (or tie-rod separator/puller). Remove the top hat bolts (3 of them - do not loosen the center bolt for the actual strut). Lower everything down until the suspension strut slips free.

** If you are only trying to remove the spindle to UCA Mount (I don't know what that bracket is called that replaced the UCA), simply jack up on the suspension arm and remove the CENTER bolt off the existing strut. SLOWLY lower the jack down (no tire) and it should give you enough slack to safely loosen the 3 top hat bolts and pull that strut out.

Above is a picture of the Top Hat bolts on the actual suspension strut. Those three bolts are inverted on the spindle mounted strut you are showing in the picture.

Should look something like this when done, except no UCA and a hell of a big gap between your spindle mount and the UCA Mount.

Yea it's that outer secondary strut assembly that's giving me the complications. I'll get it figured out. Gotta keep researching!

Jack the suspension up (take the tire off), loosen (possibly remove - dealer choice) the bolt circled in the picture and lower the suspension until the strut you are wanting to change has no more tension on it... remove the three top hat bolts and then remove that strut thing (no idea how it attaches to the spindle). good luck!

This. Post photos of the crossmember.

I can see in this pic the drop bracket goes into where the stock LCA's usually bolt to, but hard to tell if it's welded or merely needs to just be un bolted.

I don't know what that is. Seems about the right time to go all in on a full suspension setup!

How much lift do you want. I removed 2 inch lift off my 2000 4x4.
