I'm considering retrofitting a 360* birds eye view camera system into my Tacoma to assist with offroading and parallel parking and am hoping to hear others experience with them.

How well do they assist when on off-road trails and trying to maneuver around stumps and boulders?

Additionally are they super convenient for parallel parking and gauging your proximity to the curb and other vehicles?

I can speak for parking lots. They can give good top-down views, telling distance to obstacles back and front. But I do not want to rely on them. If I did, my face would always be pointed at the center screen and a mis-behaving sensor could fail to tell me I was about to run into something (child, for example) that is obvious to anyone looking around. Legal courts will not accept "malfunctioning sensor" if the child was in plain sight.

Learn to reply on your eyes for movement. Use cameras for looking when little or no movement.

My guess for offroad ... spotters. Eyes not on the surroundings or on the spotter can drive you off the edge of the road.

a downward facing front camera is a suitable aid for most offroading situations, especially when going up hills and the hood obstructs your view. More especially for solo exploring or..if your intended spotter is tiktokaleptic and can't peel themselves away from their little world to participate..
