I want to pull my seats out to install my seat covers, clean the carpet and re-route some stereo wires. I have airbags in the seats. What would be the procedure for this and not screw anything up with the airbag?

I was thinking that if the battery is disconnect for 1/2 hour or so I should be fine to disconnect the seat. Does this sound safe? Now, is there only one plug that I have to worry about or is the airbag plug different.

Also, anyone know the size of the bolt and the tourqe if needed?
    Thanks!

Thanks! At first I was thinking that but I am afraid I will trip the system if I pull it off when power is still there. Don't want to throw a warning light or worse yet deploy the side airbag lol. Man that would suck.

The FSM prescribes turning the ignition to the 'Lock' position (full 'off'), disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery, and waiting at least 90 seconds.

i took mine off with the key in the on position yesterday...all it did was indicate that the passenger side airbag was off and drivers side dash light came on...then put them back in and all i did was turn the truck back on and it was fine
