Just one of my many complaints about the drivability issues that seem to stem from the bull$#!T drive-by-wire garbage installed in these trucks.. when I'm using small inputs on the accelerator pedal, the engine often doesn't respond AT ALL. If I keep increasing the accelerator input, it will eventually respond but will usually overreact. I finally plugged my truck into VF Tuner to actually log some data; see the linked video. IT TAKES 4% BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS!!! That's entirely unacceptable! It really annoys the crap out of me when trying to inch forward/back just a tiny bit and sometimes during shifts. The worst thing about this is that the response is completely inconsistent. I suppose it depends on ambient temp, engine temp, fuel octane, and who knows, maybe even the day of the week, SMH.

What causes this? Can it be fixed? I am currently running Overland Tune but have had the issue with OT and Stock tunes as well.

Some are way worse than others. My 23 sr5 responds with the slightest throttle input. My 2020 Trd sport was the same as your describing it drove me insane

    Banks Throttle Monstor.
Best thing I’ve put on my truck besides seat jackers. The adjustability is insane, no cels, powers off the DLC not the 5v reference like others.
I have it set, I unplugged it to get a flash done at the dealer, plugged it back in and it’s right where I left it. It totally changed the driveability of the truck, very responsive and it even shifts better. It defaults to stock in reverse so you don’t go thru the garage door backing in.
I did lose about 1 mpg but I’ll take it because the truck is enjoyable to drive now.

Reflash with a more aggressive pedal sensitivity in the OTT tune? :notsure:

Can also use a hardware pedal controller like Ultimate 9 to take up the deadband at the beginning. I'm using one:

I have OV 2.0 Regular but would still be interested in a pedal monster if they would work well together?
The tune is still lacking imo. :censored:

^OV 2.0 is said to feel similar to the 2020+ factory tune. Get OTT9 or the latest version of KDMax.

I see no reason the Banks unit wouldn’t work with a tune. Call Banks, they have great tech support. Better yet, go to the website and read up on it. I have pedal commander in my Hemi powered Chrysler and that thing sucks compared to the Banks.
