Level the front of my truck without suspension spacers

Hello, I have a Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport with a 3in suspension lift. High clearance C4 fabrications steel bumper. The back end of my truck is higher than my front about an inch. I would like to raise the front so my truck looks level and so I don't have to trim my finders where the cab is. I have 285/70r 17 tires. When I turn my tires and go over steep inclines my tires rub on the plastic. Any way I can do this?

 

take lots of pictures, so the experts can ID what you have and how it was installed.
Also, a little rear rake is good, I would leave the +1" rear alone.

Did the front bumper cause you to sag and lose some height? If so, you may want to look at heavier coil, 650-700. What suspension do you have now?

 

Rake is engineered in to all trucks.

You'll have better truck function if you leave it.

Rather than raise the front more, why not lower the rear about 1/2" ? That will make it about level.

 

This is what my truck looks like. I'd like to avoid getting different suspension parts if possible. Adding the steel bumper did bring the front down 1/2 to 3/4in. I have the rough country 3.5 in lift.

 

What suspension lift was put on it? Are the UCA's and LCA's still stock? Have you done a CMC or trimmed the fender plastic at all? Running wheel spacers? Offset of those aftermarket rims? Need a lot more info here to determine what's causing the rub.
Also you may not want to drop the rear. If you ever put a load in your bed you'll end up with a goofy Carolina squat.
Get some close ups of the actual suspension components if you can.

Edit: I see you edited your 2nd post to include that you have a RC lift. There are many tiers of rough country lifts ranging from hot garbage to okay-ish. Still need pics.

 

Rig looks perfect. Leave the rake.

 

Your already pushing limit of lift that this front end can handle without causing a bunch of problems (like tearing CV boots, rubbing on your A arms, not being able to get alignment even close, etc…). In fact the general consensus is don’t go past 2.5-3” max, so you’re already past that. Like others said, you need a little rake because it’s a truck and you want ot be able to load stuff in it without dragging ass.

 

I have the rough country M1 shocks. Rough country upper control arms for the 3.5in kit. I haven't trimmed the part where my tires rub because I wanted to raise the front. I think it's a little too much rake. Could I just do like a 1in body lift in the front or does the body lift have to be front and back?

 

I think you could add some of the Toytec 1/4" spacers up front and it would get the nose up just enough.

I did that on mine because I was cheap and bought Fox 2.0 coilovers that only gave 2.X" of lift and it wasnt quite enough.


Or just add a bunch of weight in the bed lol

 

The 1\4 inch front spacer = 1/2 inch lift…….so I’m told. I’d drop the back down. FWIW I’m not sure any more lift in the front is going to help rubbing.

Looking Good! I wouldn't fix it unless you want to play pool on the bed cover? If anything lower the rear a bit, you don't want to mess with those CV axels unless Ya have to.

 

you can lift front an inch but unless you plan to never hit any kind of bump or incline its still gona rub when tire moves upward. just trim the plastic like everybody else does. in a spot where is virtually un noticeable. i cut the bottom of flare then used a heat gun to mould back the inner liner. also being a lighter access cab your probably now sitting at a optimal height up front with that bumper so id personally not raise anymore. pull a leaf out of the rear pack if you have the kit that came with them. if blocks then get a smaller one

 

they are set to 2" out of the box but fox 2.0s have a threaded body. why not just preload the coil more?

 

Lower the rear, adding more suspension lift to the front won't solve your rubbing issues. Start cutting

 

In my case I had them a little higher but found it really limited droop and made for a bad ride offroad. So I lowered the preload back down some and added the spacers on top....range of motion and comfort got better. Next round will certainly be some real 2.5 coilovers from King or the like.

 

Why not just take a leaf out? I def wouldn't raise the front any more, you're asking for all sorts of mechanical issues.
