Grill recommendations for my TRD Sport

Hello everyone,

I feel like it’s time for me to replace the grill on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. The paint is peeling off and I’m looking for some recommendations.

I’m hoping to get a good quality grill. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go rogue and get another stock grill. Or get a heritage grill like everyone else.

 

The heritage grill sounds good. What’s the best place to get it from?

 

Lots of easy vendor choices on a heritage grill since you do not have TSS or a front camera.

 

Here is a OLD thread you might find interesting. The 3rd Gen Pro was not introduced until 2017, so in 2016 many TW members were painting their stock grille or putting an SR5 grille on their Sport or Off Road. I got a Pro grille when they were available. My OEM Pro grille has held up well and still looks new after about 7 years. Lots of pictures and discussion on this link starting back in 2016.

Pretty sure 2018 was the first year with TSS. That being said, any of the knockoffs are the same chinese shit abs that the real ones are made of, so just check the forum for what other people did. The 'expensive' piece is the TSS insert, just get that aftermarket too, as toyota charges a bunch for it for no reason

 

18 does have TSS.

It includes option to buy the garnish (TSS equipped Tacomas), letter colors, and raptor lights.

The quality was very good and color has not faded since my install date of April 2022.

Heritage grille is way overrated IMO, I’d get the 2020+ TRD grille if it were me. Best looking grille a 3rd gen could have, to my eyes.

 

I sold mine to a member here from MD. Even used TW Express to get it to him.

I cleaned it up, first.
