I would get 25-30 mpg on the CB1000R, which is way worse than my wife's Civic. To be fair though, the CB made more power than the Civic, too. :D

I can definitely tell the windshield is too high.

I am going to mess around with lowering the windshield, I think. As is I get no airflow into my helmet, which is great for noise but not so great for me getting too hot. The helmet visor also doesn't get cleared off either.

I will look into flashing the ECU in the future, as is I like how it rides so I'll get used to it first.

And here I am doing oil changes on the BMW at 5k because the manual says 6k and I thought I was being conservative lol

ah i forget it's a shaft drive bike. but yeah proportionally I guess it's about in line

how the hell is this even possible? My S1k gets 35-40mpg and I'm definitely not conservative with the throttle lol.

In great news, I should be picking the BMW up later today! Didn't get to ask him if the valves were in spec but he didn't say anything about it yesterday so I'm guessing it's all good. Man I've been missing riding. Holiday traffic doesn't help either.

The traffic has been absolutely crazy here. It was also dumping rain yesterday (and my dumb ass decided to leave my rain suit in my side case instead of wearing it since it wasn't raining AT work).

I have to be careful on the ST, though. Even in the pouring rain I looked down and was doing 85+ mph. The bike literally does not seem to care at all about road conditions or weather.

yup. It's been nuts here as well...like probably backed up twice as far as normal from my usual exit. Hopefully you didn't get too soaked lol...I've been there

I know what you mean, I bet that bike could handle a lot more too without breaking a sweat.

Nice! They're amazing bikes. Currently trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on the Gabro airbox kit and upmap.

Look it up, that tank is not the right color and neither is the aftermarket NRC engine case sticking out of the fairing. Muffler and exhaust not original either.

You can also see it has rearsets and a steering stabilizer. I don't think the OE windscreen for those was dark tinted either. Nowhere near stock.

Rearsets are the foot controls. The steering stabilizer is whats attached to the frame up near the tank. Like Chuck said they're definitely aftermarket.

Not that those are necessarily bad things but the bike is not stock and it's priced too high for the condition it's in. Also it was more than likely crashed since the tank and/or fairings aren't original to the bike.

This one was given to me by a friend, I'm not sure if he'll want it back or not, but I'm happy to ride. It's got the Akra race ecu and full ti exhaust. It's so fast, hot, terrible mpg, it's a bit ridiculous. I like the Hyper better, only because it can't do those speeds, and is more relaxed. But the Tuono electronics, even compared to the 2012 RSV4 Factory I had, are so good. Plus it's got like 25 more HP

My RSV4 porn just because we're talking about Aprilia's

The RSV4 is a monster. I moved from a 2016 RF LE to the 2020 Tuono Factory. I find the Tuono far more comfortable, maneuverable on the street and better geared with more power down low compared to the RSV4. Both are fun in their own right but I’d skip the RSV4 if I could do it again. The Tuono is great on the track as well.

"More power down low" hahaha. Not like the RSV4 was lacking in that regard, but I get your point, the 1100 motor is fantastic. I think the Tuono is a strange bike, it's not a tourer, it's just a more comfortable sportbike, not comfortable, just more comfortable than the tiny RSV4 cockpit. It still amazes me that the new ones have 60~ hp more than mine did, that's so wild

Here's a better shot, it's got bar risers and bags that are interchangeable with my Hypermotard

What do rearsets do? Do they change the location of how you shift?

that is possible for the accident but unsure overall for out here it’s a good price for a bike that runs lol

It's just where you put your feet. They're usually adjustable to allow for higher position for more lean, or lower for longer leg riders. Some of them are designed to give better shifting feel, reverse gp shift, or to allow a quickshifter. Also they usually have very aggressive spikes so your boot doesn't slide off

If you look at the picture and look closely at the rear brake and footrest and how it mounts you can see 2 holes in the frame where those things were originally installed. The rearsets have moved that all back roughly 2-3 inches which probably also moved them up some. Next time you go out on your bike flip the passenger pegs down and see how it would feel to put your feet back on those from your seat. You'll probably find it brings your feet up some. Increased lean angle before something touches when cornering
