honestly, i've been using this 3/8" 'tmg' model for the past 6 months.
    https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-Ratchet-Battery-Charger-Variable/dp/B0B92V7P97?th=1

i thought i'd regret only getting a 3/8" ratchet instead of the ac delco version that has a 1/4 and 3/8 version
    https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-Cordless-Ratchet-2-Battery-ARW1209-K92/dp/B08CQJ366S?crid=2V9EKV7ZPOZB5&keywords=3%2F8+12v+ratchet&qid=1701996731&sprefix=3%2F8+12v+ra%2Caps%2C148&sr=8-15

but the reality is that it really covers 95% of use cases i need it for--anything faster/tougher, i use a real impact. it's maybe a slight pain to keep a 3/8-1/4 adapter near it, but definitely still less hassle than maintaining 2 separate 3/8 and 1/4 electric ratchets in an already-full toolbox.

it's really more of a pain that i bought a non-milwaukee platform tool that needs a separate charger and battery than it is the 3/8-only drive setup.

Anyone know if any of the large rolling totes (specifically Milwaukee Packout Rolling Tool Chest 48-22-8428) can be secured using a mounting base?

Looking to get rid of my drawers in my bed and switch to a packout system, and this super large tote would fit all my camping cooking supplies. But without having a nice way of securing it, it's pretty much the same as a regular yellow/black tote to me.

no. any of the packout units with wheels are intended to be the 'base' to any packout system, so they don't have any attachment points on the bottoms.

Ya after a bunch of searching I found this out. I sort of get why they did it this way, but I also sort of don't. This big packout box is the exact size I need so it's a little frustrating.

to be fair, all of the storage options from all brands are built this way(btw, check out the new toughbuilt boxes, lowes just started stocking them!), so hard to fault milwaukee.

there are tons and tons of cleat adapters available everywhere that you could bolt to the bottom yourself. might effect the waterproof integrity of the boxes, but the plastic is soft enough careful drilling, sealing, and properly-tight nylon lock nuts ought to reseal the holes as well.

That packout light is good in theory but no way I want to take up that much space with a light. Same reason I haven’t bought the packout cooler. Would much rather have a completely separate smaller cooler for my lunch.

The cooler is just overpriced and small

Packout light would serve useful for camping; I use the packout for all the misc stuff like camping lights, small inverter, etc. so the light would just stack on top

Just haven't gone out since I got it :bananadead:

most of the time, they're showing up with two 24 cases! no room for ice with that!

A lot of us that have ranches near by each other help each other on large building projects. When some the rancheros come by, I usually have that out for them with some Mexican limes.
I’m more of a Macallen neat at sunset kind of guy.
