Hi all, I have a first gen with bed rot starting on the passenger side, right by the wheel well. Seems like it started between where the separate bed sheet metal sections come together and eventually expanded to make a "rust bubble."

It doesn't seem to have gone all the way through and I can't see anything from the bottom of the truck. I think it started on the bed side from water accumulating under my camping platform. Besides this one spot this is a rust free desert truck that's been fluid filmed every winter.

Does anybody know anybody in WI or nearby states who might do this kind of work? I'm pretty sure this needs to be cut out and patch welded in.

Would really appreciate some opinions from ya'll.

Where in Wisconsin?? I'm in the far SE corner of the state and it takes 7 hours to drive NW to the furthest point, unless you are looking for a long drive it makes a little difference. I'd imagine any competent body shop could do it. Finding a donor bed to cut patch panels from might be a bigger challenge though.

OK cool, you shouldn't have trouble finding a shop in that area. I posted over on our main Wisconsin B.S. thread to get more eyeballs on it from the locals. Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction!
