Tacoma Lifestyle…. Irritated

Tacoma Lifestyle just lost me as a customer. Just got my first Tacoma not to long ago and I got a lot of plans for my build and like to buy everything in one place if possible. So I would be returning often for parts and mods. They seem to have a good product selection so I ordered some Alpharex taillights during the Blackfriday sale and ended up having second thoughts and wanted the Morimotos instead as I may eventually upgrade headlights and wanted good ones and for them to match..


They were doing a 20% off on Morimoto during that sale and I specifically remember seeing those lights listed at $480 I suppose I could be mistaken but before even doing the math to verify that price it’s coincidently what the sale price would be based off of their currently listed $600 price.


Anyway I emailed customer service about changing the order and whether I could get the sale price since the original order was placed during the sale. They said sure no problem. As soon as it arrived just to return my current order and they’ll do the exchange. After almost a week I’d noticed that order still had not shipped so I get back with them and let them know that so we can avoid that whole process all together.


The rep processed everything, changed the order and I would just need to pay the difference. All seemed good until I got the invoice for the difference and the sale price wasn’t applied.


Few days of back and fourth and they wanted pics of the sale price on the lights. I figure they’d know this? Anyway I didn’t have any as I didn’t expect to go with those originally.


But I did have the photo of the email showing the sale and it’s pretty specific about several brands

“Up to 30% off Diode Dynamics”

“Up to 15% off Alpharex”

And lastly a very specific

“20% off Morimoto” not an “up to”


Funny thing is the photo actually has the Morimoto taillight featured.


Anyway they email me back after no contact for a day and say the manger said it wasn’t on sale then and I must be mistaken. Needless to say I canceled the entire order.


Pretty irritated by this ordeal as I could have gotten the same lights through several vendors for the Black Friday sale which was still going on when this exchange began but didn’t go that route because things appeared to be situated with Tacoma Lifestyle.

 

I placed an order last month and I still haven’t received the items that were said to be in stock. Not only that but they haven’t even been shipped. Last order that I place from this company. I feel like there should be a forum on here just for Tacoma Lifestyle titled “SAVE YOURSELF AND ADD A YEAR TO YOUR LIFE. DONT BUY FROM TL!!!”

 

That stinks. I’ve never purchased anything from them but there have been several threads here recently about their poor customer service. I think this is the biggest one:

They seem to respond here and try to make things right. So at least that’s good.

 

Ordered on 11/30/23. Emailed asking about my order. Black Friday excuse. But the items were in stock. So today I requested a refund through PayPal and that got pretty much immediately.

I’m not going to make any disparaging comments even though I really want to. I am not sure what’s going on but clearly they have major issues. This is on an order sticky tape to protect my vehicle. Not a bumper. Not a rack. Not lights. Freaking glue-onon protective paper!!!!

 

Life lesson, both of those manufacturers have their own site where you can order directly from them.

I always try to go as direct as possible. 95% of the time their customer service eclipses the hell out of any 3rd party vendor, and you have access to direct troubleshooting knowledge in the unlikely event that you need to repair and/or warranty something.

I ordered straight from tufskinz even though they are slightly cheaper on Amazon. I don't do 3rd party.

 

I placed an order on 11/27 and it finally shipped today after I reached out last Friday to customer service asking when it’ll ship since items are in stock. My second time buying from them and it always takes forever for them to ship things out and somehow only after I ask customer service about the shipping date.

 

I guess I just don’t understand why they can’t give their direct customers a better deal. It’s a straight through sale. ‍♂️

 

Guess I'll chime in. Ordered some DD fogs from them. Same experience as most, shipping took almost a week and as soon as I sent an email saying if can't ship/not in stock cancel order. Next morning I received a "shipped" email. After arriving at the second hub they sat there for like three days before FedEx moved them again. So almost two weeks for me to realize they sent the wrong lights. Emailed them and the next day received an email with a return shipping label and a promised to expedite shipping of the fog lights. That was Thursday of last week. Haven't received a tracking number for the correct lights. IDK if they are waiting for the lights I sent back to arrive before they ship me the fog lights, but if so it may be Xmas before I get them because the return label was for ground shipping.

 

I haven't had a great experience with them either. In the future I'll be focusing on TacomaBeast and R4T.

 

I also recommend Hotshot offroad. They are active on the forum and extremely reliable and helpful. Shipping is always super fast and I’ve purchased numerous things from their site.

 

100% recommend Hotshot Offroad. Moderator and a reputable vendor.

lmao Tacomabeast kinda sucks too. All the TW hate against them for defacing a rock aside, I was given a giftcard and had to use it so I bought whatever. They just drop ship like most of the rest of these. My shit shipped like a week later directly from the manufacturer. Idk what tacomalifestyle does. Find a retailer that actually maintains stock of things and you will have a better experience for the most part.

And all that aside I get the annoyance nowadays waiting on things to ship but most of these places aren’t Amazon fast especially if they are putting in orders to manufacturers.
