Before my ex and I moved into our first house, we had a family connection with a real estate broker who was aquiring houses to be torn down or relocated for construction projects. Every time we moved out of one of their places, we got to throw things we didn’t want to keep down the basement stairs to be hauled away. It was awesome!

Jeebus jumpin' crack rabbits, Batman!! I've seen some serious heavy haulers, but never one with a "caboose" on the end of the trailer, and I don't mean the two "helper" trucks at the end.....

Down in the Tehachapi area of southern CA, on highway 58, between Bakersfield and Barstow, there are huge wind turbine "farms". My parents lived in Yermo (small town just east of Barstow) for many years after my dad retired and they left Los Angeles. I had to go across the highway 58 corridor to go visit them from my place up in northern CA. Many times I would see trucks hauling either the blades, or the stem segment for new wind turbines on highway 58. Those were extra, extra long trucks, and would always have not only the usual "wide load" pilot and trail vehicles, but also CHP escort, as they would have to close off the oncoming side of the freeway or side streets while those trucks made their very slow, and very wide turns.

why would you want to drive in this shit? i hate this. not happy that i've got to get over there one way or another today. and now its snowing here. my driveway is getting slick - almost fell a couple of times loading stuff in the truck....ugh.
i think the red areas on either end are the chain up areas but the stuff in the middle? probably jackknifed semis that didnt obey the chain law

Because it's kinda fun? :) I'd tend to stay off highways, but even caught out on it, there's something satisfying in being prepared to handle it - and it's nice that I can make it out to help recover people who thought their "car" (not their tires) goes 'pretty good' in the snow. :)

Homestake Pass between 6 and 9%. Believe its 25mph for all semis. Forget what the speed limit for normal traffic is. Lower than the 80mph on either side. Its pretty twisty on the east side. Scenic and some cool exploration areas around it.

Afternoon everybody running errands and opening boxes of donations and hauling them to the storage unit so the fosters can get it themselves. And not bother me because I’m a grumpy old man!!

their route or mine? mine crossed over the continental divide, several miles of steep twisty road that doesn't get a lot of sun this time of year. driving lane was good, passing lane questionable.
now the route that the mega load is taking? its actually pretty flat. at least flat by MT standards  more important for them is the route they have planned doesnt have any overpasses - no way that thing is fitting UNDER a bridge

does your Amazon delivery guy have a hernia after all of that?
and back at the old place now. dropped off everything i packed over today and the load that I sent mom and dad with. back here to finish packing and get ready for the movers on wednesday
