IMG_20231206_152749887.jpg Just bought my 2nd Tacoma. I had a 2012 off road. Just purchased a used 2022 Tacoma Limited with 15,000 miles on it. Toyota dealership offered a extended warranty (Assurant Vehicle Care) 8 years 100,000 from time of sale for $2745. This seemed high to me. I have 30 days to decide. I still have the factory warranty 3/36. I'm thinking of just waiting until factory is done before deciding. They claim extended warranty will cost more at that time. Hard to believe. I had my 2012 for 9 years it had 120,000 miles. Had no issues, great truck. I got a wild hair and bought a newer one with more bells and whistles. I also read that these warranties can be negotiable. Any opinions out there. Thanks.

You can buy the warranty from any dealer in the country. Shop around.

$2745 would've made the dealer more money than they did selling the truck itself.

Depends on your comfort level. That's $2745 plus interest added to your monthly on the bet that you will be needing more than $2745 worth of warrantee-able repairs between year 3 and year 8, exclusions apply, only these two cylinders and this belt, anything on this shelf between the erasers and chewing gum, anything right here will be warrantied.

Or to put it another way, if it actually saved you money, they wouldn't make money in selling it, would they?

Jerry works at a dealership in Kansas and I don’t think you can beat his rates. You will find plenty of info about him on this forum

I certainly don't believe in buying those things, but if I did I certainly wouldn't pay almost three fucking grand for one! As stated shop around and make damn sure it's a Toyota warranty product you are buying.

PS: remember, the house always wins!

Call Jerry, I will be. It's like 1375 for 10year 100k I believe. Much cheaper than your pricing

I agree with contacting Jerry. Very straightforward and it's a Toyota warranty.
I wouldn't deal with a third party warranty company

    Isn't that an aftermarket deal?

I'd NEVER buy an aftermarket warranty. Too many loopholes.

Contact the guy others are recommending and get a Toyota warranty for much less than that 'offer'.

Do we have a thread or more info regarding this guy to link?

No offense, could very well be legit, but we have a bunch of new accounts endorsing your claim.

    See a few posts down

    Today I learned I’m new.
Also if you’ve been around the block (like my ex) you’ve seen his name pop up in every single warranty thread.

Oh shit you even used the word hip! My better half is 11 years to my junior. We like to refer to my age as seasoned, not old.

I hate it when customers want me to use their 3rd party insurance to cover a repair, those companies are a pain in the ass for the shop to deal with. They'll argue about labor rates and parts costs even more than some of my cheapest customers. I've had them demand that I use scrapyard parts in some situations. They will break a nickle in half..
