Nittecore is hard to beat for the price. That said thanks for posting about these. I might pick one up to keep in the toolbox. I doubt I'll ever use it as a headlamp but the magnetic base would come in super handy for night time field repairs.

Wait for their sales. I got mine for about $45. They also throw in freebies too.

    P.s.
I don't like the band on the newer version of the Nitecore NU25. IMO they blew it with that but most of the time I have a headlamp around my neck hanging over my chest. This way if you're with another person and you turn your head to talk you don't blind them. A buddy who's a SWAT medic taught me this pro move.

    What kind of batteries?
I have four Olight models and two have replaceable batteries.
The Arkfeld Pro is a great camp light. Has white, UV, and a laser.

Well I went a little crazy during the recent black Friday sale...I want to make a video about the lights next time I go camping.

The small headlamp Perun is pretty cool but weighs more than my Nitecore. Plus it doesn't have a soft white flood or low setting for the red but it does have a magnetic base and pocket clip which gives it different uses. I have hopes to maybe use it on my telescoping pole up high above camp...but I also don't like a super lit up campsite. If it works though it would prove again to me that all the broverlanding nick-nacks aren't necessary.

As far as the Arkfeld Pro (which started this shopping spree) is a nice camp/edc light. The multifunction is great. But if all one wants is a nice UV light the Nitecore UV Tiki 1000 has the same output for much less money.

I’m in the beginning stages of research for sleeping pads and came across a klymit on sale for under $40 on Amazon. Is this a get what you pay for pad?

    Is that a huge deal?
I don’t do any real winter camping and will likely be in a sleeping bag anyway :notsure:

The pad actually does more than just cushion. It's the insulation that's UNDER you. Think about it, when you're IN the sleeping bag all the insulation underneath you is being compressed. That insulation needs to stay 'lofty' so air can get trapped between all the fibers. The bag is working around and on top of you, but the pad is what's providing the insulation under you.

Klymit is ok. It packs up small due to the design, but the holes due to the design make for cold spots. 3 season would be ok.

I have several Klymit pads but the insulated V-luxe is my preferred one if you're car camping and don't want to go with an Exped mat. Insulation is a huge deal in cold temps. I made a video about how to inflate it. Hopefully they still have the same inflation valve.

Anyone shopping for Klymit may want to search on ebay. My V-luxe pads came from Klymit on Ebay and I made offers and they accepted. Much cheaper than other online merchants.

You use it in the truck bed?
Get the bed liner if you do.
