4x4 light flashing

    2005 tacoma 4x4 4.0 extcab
    The 4x4 light flashes all the time. First thing when you crank the truck up in the mornings. After a few miles down the road the 4lo light will start blinking.

    the only way to get it in 4x4 is the switch the truck off. Twist the selector to 4h and crank it up then it engages. But once the 4lo light starts blinking there is no way you can put it in 4x4.
    Please help!
