Dumb skid plate question.

I took advantage on Black Friday and bought a skid plate from Lewis Toyota like a lot of people did. I took it out of the box today expecting a white skid plate but it's silver!?. Not what I ordered or expected. Or ignorant to the fact that they're all silver but look white if that makes sense. To show you the contrast I put a piece of paper on it to show the difference.

 

They are silver but some folks like to paint them to match their trucks

 

Not white, they are a silver-ish color. You and the rest of the planet will not even notice the thing unless you stick your head down there to look.

 

Haha...alright then. Fair enough. Looks like I should get dressed and roll around on the driveway for an hour. Thanks guys!

 

Never seen one white .silver is the standard color .

 

Not sure where you thought they were white as I have never seen a white one on a truck or from a website selling them.

 

It can be any color you want after a trip to the hardware store

 

It's silver and is good contrast with my Midnight Black Sport.

 

You will want to add one of these while doing the plate.

If you change your own oil you will thank me. If jiffy lube changes your oil they will thank me.

I got the longer nipple and it does not stick out below the skid plate.

I chose no nipple. The valve does a better job at aiming the stream than I do.

December is keep-the-old-S10-on-the-road month, and along with a new starter and oil change yesterday she got a Fumoto!

Had one for several years on my 4runner and they are great. Got a Valvomax for the Taco and like it better. Both are great additions to any rig.

 

Looks to be the standard color, you are going to really appreciate ithat little door when you do oil changes! I thought about having mine anodized dark green, but went with color matching letters from tufskinz instead.

 

Speaking of that little door, you might want to loosen the Allen bolts before you install the skid plate. They can be torqued on there pretty damn tight by the factory! Ask me how I know!
