I can't unsee/unthink it now. I'm going to start with the stack and the bottle. Now that the stack is installed how best to paint it would you think?

I’d scuff it up with 320 and / or a red scotch brite then epoxy prime and some heat resistant rattle can paint. Idk the heat rating on it but I used steel-it in black for my cmc and not a spec of rust and a perfect sheen I’d use that for sure if it can take the heat

What is everyone using for the rails inside the alucabs? Just normal M8 hardware from Ace or something? I'm looking to add some eye hooks to the rails on the side and ceiling of my contour. I don't need t slot nuts do I?

It works great. This winter I plan on trying to plumb it semi permanently rather than pulling out a ton of hoses everytime I wanna use it. But also toying around the idea of selling the whole rig ‍:annoyed:

I used these on the ceiling with Stainless Steel M8 hardware to run my cargo net. Since they can handle tying down a motorcycle they will work.

Curious what awning brackets everyone is using if only mounting to load bars .
I have a 23zero straight pull awning…. Pretty simple . Thinking the 1250 bars may be too short so maybe the 1450 bars.
The shadow awning brackets are a proprietary but I guess could drill some holes :/

I have the 1450 bars but no awning yet.

They stick out a little, but should be perfect for an awning and tent on the same bars. could probably fit a fly rod holder between the tent and awning depending on the tent.

i can grab another picture with no snow too if youre interested in the sides for the bars

I run the 1250’s and they are a bit shorter than I expected. To keep the height shorter I have the alucab awning mounts on the underside of the load bar. I can snap some pics but the load bars are pushed all the way to the edge of the roof track to give it enough room.

FWIW for anyone that likes the bars the same width as the roof without sticking out, i chopped mine recently with a metal blade on my miter saw - not even a need to touch up the paint (or maybe the very slightest that i will get around to when it gets warmer, but for not I am not bothered and i get bothered easy by that kind of stuff.).

for me, i love the flush look and wont be adding an awning.

    started with the 1450's

    used this blade

Will send some pics when i can (or remember to)

very helpful thank you. I wish they had load bars in-between the lengths.
Id rather not cut them, but may cut off three inches. to sit flush with awning, and have the three inch or so over on the other side.
although, I'm in the beginnings of the wait time so its gonna be a while anyway lol

Traditional wood blades can cut Aluminum. It's softer than some hard woods. If you take your time there's no need for a specialty blade.
