OK, this is kind of wonky... I normally don't see my headlights from the front when they are on, but I was adjusting the beams the other day and noticed that with my low beams on, the TOP half of one headlamp was lit up while the BOTTOM half of the other was lit. When I turned on the high beams they flip-flopped!

I normally do my own bulb replacements (that I purchase from the Toyota dealer in town) but am pretty sure there is only one way to put those in correctly, and other than that, I just don't monkey with them.

    Any ideas?

Do you have oem headlight buckets? Aftermarket requiring your own wiring?
I converted a ford van front end once that went from one style bulb to another. Ebay sold a conversion plug n play intermediate harness. The high and low beam (for both) was flipped

Everything is original equipment on the truck, so that's what got me confused. Have always replaced my own bulbs and now this. Wondering if it's possible I got the wrong bulb, but then I would assume it wouldn't have fit in either the housing or the harness.

when I got my 2008 mine were the same way... I researched and there's a way to stick a small nail or screwdriver in the back of the headlight socket and pull the individual wires out of the socket and you switch the wires around to get both headlights working correctly. One side right now is working correctly with the blue high beam indicator on the dash, and you need to work on the other headlight socket and get it to match. somewhere i got a color by color schematic of which wire in the socket and what it does. way better way to do than start cutting wires and splicing.

Well, this is a bit embarrassing..... so I had some time today and the temps were above 32 (my Taco lives outside, year round...) and low and behold, I put the bulb in upside down last time I changed it. Didn't even know that was possible. Anyway, problem solved.
