Hello! I have been dragging my feet on this because I don't want to sell it but I need more space.

    - -

    2002 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab
    3.4 V6 4x4
    5 speed manual
    TRD Offroad package

    VIN: 5TEWN72N72Z085287

Supposedly it was a Washington state truck, traded into a Chicago dealership where I bought it in May 2020. I was a salesman at a small Toyota dealership in 2003 and 2004 and this was an emotional covid buy for me. Read the two posts I have on the truck ( here and here ) and look at those photos to get a general sense of ownership. I kept it as a hobby truck for one winter in Chicago and then drove it down to Texas for the winters. This was a third car for us in Chicago so I didn't drive it much in the salt. I think I bought it at 183k miles and it now has 211k - mostly highway miles. This was a weekend errand runner (plant nursery and firewood trips) and long haul road trips between Chicago - Austin - Atlanta. I took it on a very long roadtrip summer of 2023 that was essentially Austin, Chicago, Seattle, Moab, Austin.

    Repairs:
Truck was in generally good condition but I did some refurbishment over time. Here is a list but check the attached PDF:
    • Timing belt and water pump were done at 170k by previous owner - belts look to be in good condition
    • Frequent air filter and oil changes - by me, Toyota dealer or independent shop
    • June 2020 - New a/c exchanger/radiator because of leak
    • October 2021 - Pulled interior and cleaned all the gunk - added sound deadening
    • November 2021 - 4600 Bilsteins on all four corners
    • May 2022 - Front catalytic converter replaced
    • May 2023 - Ceramic Tint on sides - light tint, Ceramic Tint on windshield - no tint
    • May 2023 - Conditioning service prior to big road trip. Total was $1,600.
    • June 2023 - Post roadtrip Toyota check over. Oil change.
    General condition:
Truck is in good mechanical condition via both a Toyota dealership and an independent shop in town. All paint is original. Carfax does state a front end accident but it appears to be minor. There is a long-ish scratch on the passenger door. It isn't horrible but it is still noticeable. There are some small dents/scratches on the tailgate - small but noticeable.

A/C is COLD - helped by the ceramic tint
I do have the original window sticker which is cool - see attached

    Pictures of the frame:
Surface rust as expected from a 21 year old truck but from my understanding nothing similar to rust rot some trucks have.

    Where you located?
    Georgetown, Texas

    Other items:
I am a fairly open person so let me know if there is anything you have questions on. I have a couple of older Porsches and treat this car just as nicely as I do those.
    Price: $9,500

It is on the original clutch?

How many miles on the lower ball joints? The passenger side one looks like it is leaking its grease. Can't see the driver side one.

Any pics of the engine bay?

The clutch and LBJ were not replaced in my ownership. I’ll look through any paperwork to see if they were replaced.

I will take some more photos tomorrow.

I'm all over this if you've still got it in spring. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Works slow at the moment or else I'd come grab it now. Good luck with the sale. If you've still got it in April/May. You'll be hearing from me.

Hello! I want to apologize, I have been off and on sick throughout the holidays and haven't been responsive on selling the truck.

I am responding back now to each person that sent me a message.
