: Do I have to wait for a specific mileage for Toyota to change my oil under the maintenance?

In my case, the Toyo dealers service department/writer said if I wanted the oil changed earlier, I can request it without an issue. I am guessing then they have a certain amount of oil and tire rotations they can do per 2yr or 4yr maintenance plan.

No you do not, but if you do early, make sure you do next one early too.

For example first is 5K , do at 4500ish.
Second one is 10K, do at 9500 ish and so on.
Third one 15K , do at 14500 etc.

Just make sure you don't mix up and run long intervals on truck. ALSO, 5k and 15K does not include oil change because modern Toyota believes we live in traffic, snow , dust free world and engine can run 10K without filter & oil change. So when you do go there at 5K make sure you do oil change, you will need to pay for it. Or do it yourself at home. Same for 15K.

10k is no problem at all for oil/filter change. You can easily go at least 15k …don’t believe everything you read here.

don't forget about the time interval as well.

my first oil/filter change @ 1 year was done at ~4200 miles. service person told me Toyo covers the second oil change only before 2 years from date of purchase. ~2200 miles of those 4200 miles are the drive home from the dealership where I purchased the truck so it's possible that I'll have < 7000 miles when I get that last free oil/filter change.

Find a good reputable independent shop that only works on Toyota.
Have THEM change the oil and rotate the tires every 5k.
Or if you have the time, space, tools, and know-how do it yourself.

I think the majority of folks here will concur to never, EVER let the dealer do any maintenance no matter how minor.

If you do let the dealer perform maintenance double check that they actually did it, and actually filled oil to the right level
and actually put the cap back on.

My car literally popped " maintenance required soon "at 4700. Even if Toyota is going with the non sense 10K miles. Luckily the engineers still design Toyotas right and not try to cover up the greed for money.
