    Cool stuff

I had a similar variant on my 19 MT …. I’ve offered to buy the code from him but apparently it’s not as easy as say a 3D print file

A nice job on that install as well! I like how my FTM300 APRS is turned on and off by pushing the display button and figure that is similar in the FTM500. It's always neat to see fabrication to customize an install. 73.

Thanks, the FTM-500DR is similar I'm sure. Simple push of the knob to access the quick or short menu and you can turn APRS on or off.
I thought APRS would be a great tool for emergency use but this past summer when down at the Texas National Sea shore State Park on the beach, I could barely hit the closest repeater in Corpus Christy TX. Also, no cell phone Service, might have to bring more than just my mobile antenna next time.

What’s your guess on whether or not the Rago mount is going to end up rubbing paint off your bedside or tailgate? I’m really thinking about this option vs my hood hinge mount I currently use.

The large threaded part should come off put the connector in from the bottom then the ring. Yes the bracket is a bit thick but I may work.

maybe position parallel to your center console to the right of your gear shifter. These trucks tend to do better with smaller units.

Good article from digikey. I'll add one thing, the mount has two holes in it the ideal it for a tool to fit in the holes so it doesn't turn when you tighten the ring. Not exactly a common tool but that is the plan with a bit of effort you can make one. Needle nose pliers can work if the points are small enough.

Hey guys! I need your help.

I live in Lebanon, war is breaking out with Israel in the south and I’m thinking of putting a CB radio in my truck for emergency.

    how does this look?

Cobra 19 MINI Recreational CB Radio - 40 Channels, Travel Essentials, Time Out Timer, VOX, Auto Squelch, Auto Power, Instant Channel 9/19, 4-Watt Output, Easy to Operate, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NCL6S5H

As well as a fire stick antenna.
    Thanks

Put your fire stick antenna on a quick release, and in a bind you can pull it off and beat your way to freedom.:rofl:
FWiW, if I were looking at CB, that’s an antenna I’d be looking at too.

IMO the Uniden 520XL is a better choice. A little more power output with full squelch control in the same small form factor. All for less money.

    thank you!

any recommendations on mount to install it on the side of my center console by my legs?
And coax able and mount for fire stick?

I don’t know if the stuff I’m looking at is good. Thanks.
