Love the ceramic bezel but the best is the quick adjustable bracelet.

I don’t like changing the date every other month so I specifically got it with no date. My wife wears a green OP.

Highly recommend them. Get the automatic. It is my everyday watch. I never change it and the time never fluctuates. For the price point you can't ask for a better watch. They're Swiss for crying out loud.

SEIKO SNL015 Sportura Kinetic Chronograph (a.k.a. Alien Head)

I found this NIB Seiko SNL015 Alien Head in November, 2023 after several years of searching and finding overpriced or overused examples. Why Alien Head? The crystal and dial are shaped like::tinfoilhat: NO! WAIT! like::alien:

Finally acquired a grail. I have another example with the leather rally strap (SNL021), but it was badly mangled by a previous owner who scratched and dented the lugs, trying to replace the very expensive contoured leather strap with a crappy rubber diver strap. That one has been worn weekly in anticipation of replacement and retirement when I could find the sweet bracelet version.

That brings me back. My dad has 2. One with the metal bracelet, and one with the synthetic. Unfortunately neither of his work.

Have you tried shaking them for several minutes to get the Kinetic capacitor charged up? If it has any life left, it will start advancing in 2-second increments.

Mine both work, and hold charge for a few more days after I wear them for a couple of days. I plan to get the cap in the new one replaced when I go to get the bracelet fitted. I think they are supposed to hold a charge for several months with a new capacitor.

My old man is pretty autistic, he’s tried to get them to work short of paying a third party a bunch of money to have them repaired, I don’t think Seiko will service them anymore.

The capacitors are still available for less than $20, but the replacement takes some tiny nylon tweezers and a jeweler's screwdriver. My eyes and hands are too old and shaky to do it. I'll post up with more info after the local watch guy has a look... I'm sure he's capable of the job. There are plenty of videos online that show the process.
