Hi guys, first post. Wasn't really sure what to google to see if someone already had this issue, so sorry in advance if it's been asked to death already.

I've got a 2004 Double Cab 4x4 Tacoma, and I just finished switching out most of my suspension components for some OME stuff. New front shocks, springs, rear shocks, leaf springs, etc. I also decided to do an oil change on top of it cause I was due, and greased the driveshaft ujoint zerks. Fired up just as expected after all the work.

To describe the issue, it revs up like you're in neutral then finally starts moving. When I put it in gear, it doesn't want to go. It's like you're driving a manual and have the clutch halfway engaged. I did notice that my transfer case was wet like it's leaking from somewhere. First time noticing it and never saw anything pooling up underneath the truck. (It was on jack stands for two weeks during this job because I kept needing to order more random stuff I forgot )

At first I thought it might be fighting with the new drum brakes I put on. Double checked those, and the guys who did my alignment said that couldn't be the issue. They suggested something transmission/driveline related. The driveshaft came disconnected near the rear differential during the job, but I don't think that would be causing this? Did I need to clock it a certain direction?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

:facepalm:Nevermind, realizing now that I drained my transmission fluid when I thought I drained my engine oil. Feel like such an idiot. I've done all my oil changes before with no issues. Hope I didn't damage anything on my drive to and from the alignment shop.

Double what's needed. I only drove maybe four miles like that. I've already drained it. (From the correct plug this time)

Watch that front and rear engine seal for the next couple of days.

    Should be good tho.

Damn good thing the tranny/TC holds about 9.5 qts......so the pan only has like 2 of it.

If the trans fluid was dark like used oil, you might was to do more drain and fills until it looks like normal red fluid.

This is what I planned on doing. I believe it was a dark red. 190k miles on the odo so it's about time I give some TLC to the transmission.

Was about to ask you to check trans fluid level. Lol, glad you figured it out. Just dealt with a similar issue on my auto highlander. It's like it was a manual riding the clutch and would finally start moving. Pulled the trans dip stick and it was dry.
