    ^Are you saying loose spark plugs are a dreamed-up problem? :confused:

    No, all three passenger side plugs were way loose on my 2017. Not even finger tight. Couple on driver side were loose as well, but not as bad. :smash:

    My plugs were loose on the passenger side, barley took any force to loosen up. One he checked a few and he was in there working it was just the cost of the plugs. I got all the parts at cost and the labor was next to nothing. So yeah I took his advice and changed out the plugs. I drive my truck very little and it's my last new vehicle that I will buy. I will say my truck did smooth out and feels better after I have driven it a little more. Either way it been done and I don't have to deal with it for a while.

    I had one loose plug on the drivers side when I did mine at 60K. Transmission fluid was 1/2qt low also.

    All this said;
    I’d damn sure rather over maintain than under!
    I’m sure we can agree on that, how’s that for holiday cheer?!

    There's nothing wrong with going a little extra on maintenance, there's worse vehicles out there to put money into

    Ignore the guy trying to tell you that a few transmission drain/fills is going to exceed the cost of a new transmission. :confused:
    He says that in every single transmission related thread..

    A great friend, indeed a little bored and I was dreading paying someone at a shop or the dealership but he did it at his home and the labor wasn't bad and the parts were at cost. So it's a win/win!

    Haha, you got me, still original everything actually.

    No, I try to do the oil changes every 5k, but probably more like 7k. As for other "scheduled" services, I have done everything else but the spark plugs, just forgot about them at 60k, will be looking at getting them done at 90k with the front breaks. Not advocating for missing service but taking out good parts with at least 1/2 life to go seems a little odd to me too.

    I'll wave a wand over this truck for the cost of the wand, and I'm reasonable with my time, too.

    ^In some jurisdictions waving your wand in public is considered lewd exposure, a misdemeanor.

    Things that should be changed after a certain amount of time have that written in their change interval. Also note, the fluids that go bad do so because they interact with oxygen and water, or because they have additives that get used or decay in a certain time frame.

    Things like coolant, brake fluid, engine oil, etc should be changed in a given time frame. But unless you're thrashing your motor and running high rpms constantly, spark plugs are not one of those things.

    20-30K is a plug interval that sports cars run, vehicles with highly stressed motors. The Tacoma isn't that kind of car.

    Don't overlook flushing brake fluid, it's hygroscopic and soaks up moisture by design. And down at the wheels the fluid can get so hot that it can boil and microscopic air bubbles will form resulting in a softer pedal

    I've also come around to draining and filling coolant more often. It's not just the freeze protection that becomes a concern but the chemicals that resist corrosion can break down. That causes scale and deposits in places like the heater core, and heater performance will suffer
