My experience as well, and with lesser products than ceramic coatings.

I wheel my truck and I use paint protection, it’s easier to clean and looks great with way less work than a traditional wash. In 5 years, my paint overall will look way better with minimal maintenance than someone who does the wash and wax thing.

You are right about ceramic coatings not fixing dents or keeping them from happening, but I’m not sure anyone would have that expectation.

After reading this thread I think I would like the ceramic coating (all good advice so far). I just have to find an experienced ceramic shop around me. A lot of places say they do ceramic but are they any good. I gotta snoop dog the best ceramic shop before I pull the trigger and what products are they are using. This ceramic stuff is a big learning curve for me.

Quitman, Arkansas, 70 miles north of Little Rock. I prefer not to go to LR unless absolutely necessary cause I don’t wanna get robbed, car jacked and or shot, lol. Thanks for offering.

So many have told me that having a good ceramic coating done adds value to your truck when its come's time to sending it down the road.

Been doing some snooping on these coatings and there is a new one out now called Modesto Glass (it’s not ceramic). Supposed to be latest new type of coating, harder than any ceramic. They say it will last 12 years. Only one place in my state of Arkansas that does it. But it is not cheap. Modesto requires that they train you and certify you to use it. They keep your ride for two days and cure the coating under ultraviolet lights over night. Anybody know about it or had it done ?

    Nice job OP.

I’ve used the consumer level Gtechniq products for many years and am very happy. I coat my taco every 2 years with Gtechniq CSL lite + EXO. Costs around $150 for the ceramic coating kit, rest is your labor. Since it’s not a commercial grade, it doesn’t hold up as long as the more expensive versions that professional details have access to. Wash truck, clay bar truck, wipe down with 70% isopropyl alcohol rinse, and then apply the coatings. (I’ve never don’t paint correction).

Note you can do all your black trim, glass, etc as well. No residue, no white streaks, etc.

Wish they still had Quicksand available when I purchased, though wanted it so wouldn’t have to wash it very often, let alone waxing, ceramic coating it like that… lol!

If that'll keep the frame from rusting, sign me up!

Nothing wrong with wanting to protect your paint. Yearly rustproofing protects the paint too, (if you rustproof the whole truck), not just the frame.

I'm too cheap and/or lazy to buff out/ceramic my truck, but getting the yearly rustproofing makes my vehicle paint look fantastic, even after 10 years of harsh summers and harsh winters.

But kudos to the OP for the beautiful job and nice pics..

I had Modesta BC-04 glass coating done to my truck this week. They keep it for two days and have to cure the coating under UV overnight. Going to pick it up today. Been told it will last 10 years and supposed to be harder than ceramic. I’m a bit OCD about my rides and I got tired of hand waxing 2 or 3 times a year. Only one place in Arkansas that does Modesta coating, didn’t really want to drive to crime ridden Little Rock to get it done. Hopefully I won’t get shot or car jacked today picking it up.
