Good afternoon everyone, I am looking into buying this 14 Tacoma from 1st original owner.

Odometer has only 30k miles, Carfax & Autocheck only have about 7 records.
Does the rust on this exhaust look valid for such low miles? Also how bad does undercarriage look?

    Please advise, thank you.

    Do you see any rust?

Does this first owner (hopefully not just someone selling on a skipped Title) have service records?

Looks great! Looks can be deceiving though so inspect ever square inch and tap on every inch with a ball peen hammer. Where is the truck from? How's the service history?

Hi gentlemen, I appreciate your prompt responses.
Only rust I can really see is the exhaust (seems like maybe just surface?)

The is in California (desert zone), only 7 records. Said he did his own oil changes so nothing from an actual mechanic.

I guess what I'm really wondering is if that undercarriage matches what a 30k mile truck would look like?

That undercarriage is cleaaaaan. So is the underside of the body and what is pictured of the rocker panels. Exhausts will eventually rust like that everywhere, with the heat cycling that an exhaust undergoes. It might need a catback replacement soon just due to age, but that truck looks to be extremely clean.

Yup. That looks like a 30k mile California vehicle. If you like the truck and like the price I'd buy it

Not a bad price, $30K is about what they go for on Autotrader. If you really want it throw him an offer.

Crazy for a 10 year old truck, but it’s not many miles at all, and I think gen 2.5 is best, so yeah, it’s probably worth it. Should give you another easy 200k miles

About the only crappy thing is the infotainment system, but there are great aftermarket choices nowadays

Your photo could be better, but you may want to use a screwdriver for a punch to push in the metal and see how solid the metal is at a low point where moisture could settle. If you only drive a short distance and shut it off, it doesn't have time to discharge the condensation. Muffler shop could also tell you to be aware of their motive. Good Luck

It'd be better to verify the mileage by looking at the wear on the pedals, and interior wear. Frame, and exhaust look fine.
