Gas tank skid plates with no holes?

Gas tank drilling is a problem in my area for vehicles with decent clearance.

I'm looking to replace the factory plastic skid with a solid metal one but everything I'm seeing has slots in it that would be easy to drill around.

Is anyone aware of a skid plate that has a solid bottom without slots or half dollar sized holes all throughout?

 

I have the budbuilt which has no holes. But you could still drill it from the sides or uptop.

I don't believe any of the skids do much for the sides of the tank.

I've seen this one before and it caught my eye. I wonder how much weight it adds and whether there are any major caveats to it. Being 33 gal would also allow me to go further between fueling, I do wonder how impact resistant it is off road.

Cheaper then the possible fine or bill for gas leaking into soil or on the street if environmental services somehow got notified.

 

lot's of EPA folks monitoring owner's trucks, just waiting for vandals/thieves to drill their tanks, so they can fine them.

 

Cost and weight being the main caveats. The tank weighs 106 lb, plus the weight of 33 gallons of fuel (208 lb) if you use it to full capacity.

LRA claims the tanks are made from 0.079" (2mm) thick steel and therefore don't need a skid plate. The aftermarket fuel tank skids sold in North America are typically 0.188", with some offered in thinner "overland grade" at 0.125".
