A lot bigger, we got a brush pile across the road with no water but a small branch that I drop irrigation pump into and watch th MF burn.

Lots of nails and staples and screws. I'd wreck the chain, plus this thing was sitting in the woods for 15-20 years, I just hit something with a hammer/pull on it and it all comes apart.

I agree! I do have to keep it relatively safe looking though since I'm burning everything except the insulation and plastic. Don't want too many people stopping and asking questions

Good afternoon guys. The clouds have cleared out and the sun has finally decided to shine now that it’s late afternoon.

It is still 47 degrees outside :).

I have perhaps unsurprisingly spent the last seven hours in the cellar.

This little sander I got a few weeks ago at a yard sale earned the $25 I spent for it today.

Putting a bevel on all this PVC for the supply air & exhaust.

    KIMG3717.jpg

I'm pleased with how it turned out, I didn't want to make any more head bangers.

When you work with sheet metal, cuts are inevitable, PVC primer & glue in cuts stings in case you are wondering.

    Me more than you... :D

    Nine hours today.
This job has kicked my @$$.

Probably take 1/2 the time if the cellar was a foot higher -- and without that mud bank. :annoyed:

It took the last hour to get the T-stat line ran, fortunately Mrs Green was here to help.

Time to wash up and sit in the chair.

When I do a job like that, i am both proud I did it and simultaneously kick myself for doing it because, while it is an accomplishment for sure, the pain that follows just plain sucks. In 2021, I decided that was time to build a kick ass storage shed. I vowed it would be the bestest building around. I leveled and poured the 12x14 pad myself, 4" thick. I had a bunch of wood stockpiled but had to buy siding and hardware and tin for the roof. Anyway, I built every stick and screw myself and did it to hurricane spec. It took me several weeks at night and weekends. I did it myself and my body paid for it lol. Was it worth it?
If I had to, I can still do anything, it will just take longer. But I lack some skills where I would still have to call in outside help.

I couldn't afford to hire this job done, the labor cost would probably exceed the value of the house.

No doubt I have a habit of overdoing things , on the other hand if it is worth doing it is worth doing right.

This is kind of a "in for a penny - in for a pound" situation, as long I'm going to the trouble of installing a furnace it is time to address the issues with the original installation and make it as "less bad" as I can.

    Morning all! :pccoffee:

Rain is gone, but the wind has moved in. Scanner has been going off like crazy. Power blinked twice in a couple seconds last night around 10 that tripped every GFCI in the house. Never seen that before. Road across from me lost power completely so I am extremely lucky. Got the grill ratchet strapped to the back porch, hopefully it'll weather the storm!

Well, the rain is up here now.

All sorts of flood watches. It’s supposed to last through the day. It’s probably going to melt whatever snow cover we had which sucks for the ski and snomobile economy up here….

Not much you can do about it.

    Good morning, happy Monday :hattip:
