I think this will be a pretty good representation of their abilities as the wheels are not in great shape. Here’s the “before.”

I don't have the before pics, but these are 20 something year old Disco 2 wheels from the breaker yard after NV cleaned them up, PC'd them and mounted sticker Nokian ATs.

Have to admit I was skeptical of adhesive weights, but they've help up so far.

    Sure thing!
    2004 SE, 130K miles.
Bought about a year ago from the second owner (since 2006). Amazing service history. No rust. Slight tick from back of motor, mechanic says lifter, not slipped liner.
Cheap winter dog hauler, but instead became wife's alternate daily.
Reminds me a lot of an 80. For the money, hard to beat, assuming you can find a "good" one, which are few and far between.

    20230102_152013.jpg

It was built as an SE7, but I converted it to a five seater. Didnt need the jump seats and they take up a lot of cargo space

Nice! The silver is a great color. And you shed some weight with the jump seat removal. if I recall, they were heavy. Did you keep the rear air suspension (I think the SE had it. memory is going) or converter it over to coils?

My 01, Epson Green, SD. back in the early 2000's. Purposely looked for a SD, as to not have any extra electronics or sun roofs to deal with. I did a minor 2 inch RTE lift. Added the 04 dif-lock shifter and a few other things.

    005.jpg

I will say this.. I think they look way better with the fender flares removed. My opinion though.

I don't think there are many bad color choices for the D1/D2. It's such a classic block shape. My wife does have an aversion to green, but I woulda grabbed one that looked like yours in a heartbeat.

My SE(7) doesn't have SLS. It was optional. I think it was standard on HSE. Mine has rear air though. The silver is wicked at reflecting the low winter sun into driver's eyes. Had to do the hood blackout. Fender trims are pretty ragged. Was going to replace, but the wife took the truck over, so it became a non-issue for me. Especially at the better part of a grand for all the new OEM pieces.
Haven't touched the sunroof buttons. But that's a rule in my house for anything that's old.

I would really love to find an uber-pristine D1 just to preserve it. We had friends from the dog park (Masonic temple in Alex) back in the mid 90s who had a 5 speed D1 in Willow green. I worshipped that rig. I was driving a pathetic CRV at the time, lol.

a few things, and some vinyl....
I used to have bike frames powdercoated at ASCO, but they stopped that service a couple years ago. They also charge for wheels by size, which I find odd....

This is my 80 series I bought this summer. About to replace the entire suspension on it next week. It’s a blast to drive, loving it so far.

What an awesome truck. Definitely a keeper!!

Are you just replacing the suspension because it's tired or are you upgrading it?
