Ah so the 2006 Tacoma FSM available online is wrong?

The 2010 4Runner FSM says 104-115F. I just assumed they're different for each model.

I know on my 17 with the tow package it is between 95-113 degrees if that helps. I use an Innova 5512 and when plugged in only shows one temp for the transmission. I am in the drain and measure, fill with same amount of fluid and repeat 1-3 times. Then check level at proper temp. no flush or pan drop. Make sure you're running your scan tool under the maintenance menu if you have one. Maybe your tool has maintenance menu separate from the rest of the scans like mine.

Should be the same sensor. Maybe one of the two PIDs have a fudge factor built in. After the truck has been sitting for a few hours, turn power on engine not running, check the two readings. Use the PID that's closest to ambient air temp.

The drain plug is clearly not the lowest point on the pan. Its recessed.

One could easily do the classic drain and then as mentioned jack the front up with plug still removed to drain the torque converter and get what is sitting in low point of pan. Measure whatever you removed, lower truck to level, add same amount + an extra quart before doing the temp check. That way it will most likely overflow a bit and then you are g2g, dont have to drive around wondering in back of mind if level is correct.

Or you could wing it and spend 6 months on this forum justifying why you were a lazy sob! We all been there.

Yeah, it’s not it is a big difference, but I wound rather get 5 out vs 3 considering it holds between 10.5 - 11.1

I get it, you paid for that tune awhile back and it didn't deliver. My truck wasn't shifting so great either. My spill and fill has paid off for me. PS nice screen name choice.

Question, i did a drain and fill on my 2017 TRD OR DC 4X2. I got one of those graduated plastic pails to measure the drained trans fluid. It was around 2 qts. Then when I did the fill with ATF WS, I got around 3.25 qts in and it was full. When I did the paperclip trans temp check, I opened the check valve and got around 2 qts back.

Am I good? I was thinking I was low, then filled up more fluid, then the drainage check came out about the same.

    Any suggesions?
