I’m trying to relocate my ECT switch away from my center dash to make room for an Ethernet/RJ45 port.

I used the Kabowest extension to pull the button over to the driver side switch panel but no available slots and I don’t want to replace an existing switch.

I’d like to use the aux blank for this button. Is there a switch out there that can fit this skinner aux slot that I can plug the exist cable into? IMG_7075.jpg

Wouldn’t have been better to find a place for the rj45? Out of curiosity why would you need an rj45 with blue tooth available?

Lots of companies make ditch light switches for that slot. You might look at Caliraised and search ditch light switch. Not sure about plug and play, however.

My Midland handset plugs into the head unit using that cord. My model doesn’t have Bluetooth capability.

I found a generic switch that fits that slot and I’ve tried soldering up the existing wire but it doesn’t seem to turn ECT on and off. I think I need a schematic of the existing OEM wiring and OEM switches. I think there’s something else going on inside the switch that’s not evident.

Maybe instead of trying to make your own switch you could get a different switch panel and use the original switch? Take a look here and see if you can find something that works.
You'll have to scroll down some and see if you can find what you need if you want to try that.

the outside wires are to turn on/off the ECT, the 2 middle wires are for the light in the switch, according to a video i watched.

I guess what I’m asking is, has anyone successfully converted any stock OEM short switch to a skinny tall switch?
