Beauuutiful renewing process! Salute to the patients which I can't find in me.

 

It was a fairly easy process with a drum sander and random orbital sander at my disposal. Having the right tools for the job makes patience easier.

Unfortunately the electric work on this unit is on the bottom, if I had more ceiling height I would have put it on taller blocks.

A little comfort in my muddy dungeon.



There is a difference between an installer & a service guy -- the service guy ends up living with what the installer did...

I was a service guy so I build with an eye on the future: Convenient t-stat & fan control right on the unit.



If you have ever worked on a unit with a door switch you will understand this mod.



And when you need to run the unit with the blower compartment open just swing the bypass into position.

Still plenty to finish up: the outside vents, the T-stat wires are flapping, more insulation on the ducts & my temporary condensate drain is kind of janky.
