I’m well versed in 2nd gens. I was speaking to a friend with a 2019 OR about the importance of U joint greasing. Are Gen 3 U joints sealed or do they have zerks like my ‘10 OR?

The 16's had them. Toyota slowly eliminated zerks as the years went on. My 21 doesn't have a single zerk on it.

Greaseable for the first year or two and sealed after that.

Like the others said, the early gen 3's were greaseable and the later are sealed spicer units. Nothing greaseable on my 21 front or rear.

My 2017 has zerks on the front driveshaft only.

FWIW I’ve put about 60,000kM on gravel, mud, silt, according to my Garmin, and 100,000kM overall on the truck. The rear sealed driveshaft u-joints are still smooth and tight. No issues.

Thanks for the replies. Next time she’s at my house I’ll crawl under and take a look.

2016 rear wheel drive here… zero zerks on my truck. Only the 4x4 had them.

My '19 4x4 has zerks on the front drive shaft u-joints, but none on the rear. Go figure lol
