Motocamping gear, pics, etc

I couldn't find a thread specifically for motocamping gear. I would like to setup my little Rally for some camping trips. Maybe this thread will also help others......at the very least, maybe some cool pics

I bought some cheap Rhinowalk luggage for around $200. For how often I will use this stuff, I just couldn't justify the cost of something like Mosko/GL. I know they are much better quality.....but I won't really be putting these through the ringer

I know @fatfurious2 has some nice gear and my buddy @Modern.Hermit just grabbed a KLX300

Not at all. I love that thread. I just lose my train of thought b/c some awesome bike is posted(like that old-school Ninja 600 )....and I get sidetracked looking at those

Folds down and packs up small inside a coozie to protect it, hanger to put it up inside your tent, solar or charge first from a USB. Pretty damned bight too.

 

That's pretty slick. I added 2 USB and a cig lighter on mine.

I’ve still got all my backpacking gear from when I got to do a lot of that in grad school. So I really just need a good place to carry it. I’ve got the next couple weeks off work, so stay tuned for what I cobble together! I think I’ll be shooting for this kind of energy in 2024.

 

Family gave my a bunch of REI gift cards, so I got most of my gear from them. If it were up to me, Amazon would be my choice (mostly because Im cheap in certain things)

This is what I used. Very bare bones, and the opposite of the luxury of a RTT/truck camping gear:

Klymit Static V insulated sleeping pad
a down blanket
GSI Pinnacle Soloist II cookset
Jetboil and associated fuel
mountain house/related dehydrated food
small chair
crocs
Amazon 25L drybag for clothes

I dont really have a packout picture. On my last big trip VA-ME, I was using a Kriega OS-24 bag setup.
While actually really nice, I wanted some more space. After I got home, I ordered Mosko Moto Reckless 40 v3.0 (before the price hike. I wouldnt buy them for $700+ now)

No way. I love seeing/searching for different bikes(got to looking at VFR400's earlier ). I just figured maybe I could keep the camping stuff together in a smaller spot

 

haha makes sense! ive always thought about doing small trips with the bike one day but anything cool is like 5 hours away lmao

 

that looks really nice. My friend had a 1 person tent and it was literally just enough room for a body. I like a 2 person for solo camping, in case you want to store more inside the tent.

Im hoping to do more moto camping trips in 2024. 50mpg > 15mpg in the truck

 

If I'm honest with myself.....most of the time I will just throw the bike on the hitch carrier and bring it with........I just really want the option of just the bike

From what I can gather, a 2-person isn't much bigger when packed down for being able to throw your stuff in if needed. I had one of those cot tents that was a 1-person and it was too tight for my liking.

 

id like to do that as well take the truck to a point and ditch it and go explore on the bike and camp with it then come back to the truck and go home

 

My plan for this coming season is to get a separate tent pole bag from RMATV. Along with a 25L dry duffel for my clothes. I will post when I get them and my opinions

 

I’ve had a 2-person Kelty Salida 2 I think it is for like, 8 years. Never let me down and is stupid easy to set up. Bought it from REI in 2016, so idk if they still make it.
