haha.. get it out now, but I "wrongly" assumed some 16" aluminum wheels would just bolt onto my 3rd gen truck.. I was indeed wrong. My question is: I have black KMC wheels that are worth more to sell, than to me on the truck. (purely an aesthetic thing but) I really like the 2nd gen aluminum rims but run 285/70/17 at the moment (with black rims) and I found nice set of 16" Tacoma wheels with 285/75/16 M/T tires. and they hit the calipers.
If I run 1" wheel spacers, will this fix the problem? and allow me to run the 16" wheel/tire combo on my truck?

I'm not sure of the offset on the 16' wheels but they stock Tacoma issue.

Any thoughts are appreciated.. thanks in advance Cheers

depends where are they hitting the caliper? the face of the wheel? or i it hitting the outside of the caliper against the barrel of the wheel? that might be an issue. I've another vehicle that I've downsized to 15's from the factory 16's and was able to clear the wheel with a very small spacer.

they are just hitting the edge where the arms of the wheel go outward and on the corner of the caliper.

you could likely get away with a smaller spacer and clear things.
