I took my 2000 Tacoma Limited to the shop and had my knock sensors replaced with
OEM sensors. No problem, Code went away. However now my ECT switch doesn't work or light up on the dash. Is there a connection that might have been disturbed or omitted during the installation of the knock sensors?

More than likely a coincidence… but just in case, let me see if I have a wiring diagram to reference for a more informed answer, in the mean time, check the fuses both by your left knee and in the engine compartment.

Well, I replaced the switch with another stock switch that was used but was guaranteed to be functional.
No change, still not working. Fuses are good. My understanding from looking at wiring diagrams online is that it
goes from the switch to the dash lights then to the ECU. No change in function and PWR light on dash does not light up.
I looked around the engine bay and Supercharger intake for anything loose or unconnected and didn't see anything.
My shop knows and I'm going to bring it back in next week. I don't know what else to do.

Was there voltage at the switch?

... Does anyone actually use that ECT button :anonymous:

I just took a peek at the wiring diagram. I don't see how the ECT button would have any dependence on the knock sensors.

I'd take a real hard look at the fuses again. Might look ok, but not have continuity?
