I am about to install Bilstein 5100 in all four corners of my 2016 Tacoma TRD offroad. Does anyone know what is the max height that I can set on the 5100's front shocks so I dont get a rear end lean. Assuming that the OEM suspension rear end is a bit higher than the front. anyone who has done this shocks upgrade only to point me in the right direction. thank in advance

If your leaf springs are still pretty new, first or second circlip notch will just about level out the truck. This would be a starting point...every truck is different depending what accessories you have.

Tacomas are typically 1 inch higher in the rear in stock configuration. So if you'd like it level with out doing any lift in the rear then lift the front 1 inch.
Reference this to see the actual Bilstein directions. It shows which position to place the circlip to get the lift you want.
It appears circlip location #3 will get you about 1 inch of lift.

thank you for the referrence, I was just reading that post but there r so many different opinions from truck owners. I am setting at the #3 circlip to see what happens. what you said makes sense.

Clip #3 is the sweet spot.

Do measurements first, if the left hand side is 1" lower than the right, go 4 drivers side, 3 passenger side.

Both are a waste of time and money.

I put 5100s on about a rear ago. I ended up going with the #3 clip position and it netted a little more than the 1.1” on the Bilstein instructions. I ended up adding 1/2” spacers to the rear and I’m happy with the results - just a small amount of rake (approximately 1/4” - depending on how full the gas tank is).

I did the top clip @ 2", and added a 1" rear block. Looks sooo much better with upsized tires.

Best thing is, no more oem brake dive with these bigger, better Bilsteins, than the 4600 Bilsteins.

I have the same wheels on my truck but they are 16", does the 17s with tires affect your mileage badly? nice picture , truck looks cool.

Technically yes, but I haven't noticed much difference at all, since switching over from 265/75/16 Duratracs.

did you have any issues with the 255/80/17 Wildpeak AT3s? actually, 265/75/16 are the next tire size I want to get, but I am thinking about keeping stock wheels or getting another set of 16s? any benefits on the 16s over 17s that made you go back to 16s?

Before I installed the shocks the rear was seating just a one inch higher than the front at 35 3/4, and now the truck is seating 36 in all corners at the 3# circlip. Am not sure yet about driving changes w/ 5100s installed besides the nose diving is reduced when breaking abruptly. It feels like the front brakes are sharper because there isnt much nose diving before the wheels try to look under hard braking.

    Vivaldi, it's the opposite.

I just bought the 17" 33"s. As much as I loved the 32" Duratracs, They dont make them in a 33" 255/80/16. Nor do Wildpeaks. That's why I bought 17" rims, and the 255/80/17 Wildpeaks. I needed an aggressive A/T with the 3 peak snow designation.

Both are great choices, but I wanted more ground clearance under the pumpkins.

I notice that all shocks are made in Mexico, but I saw a video on youtube of Bilstein rep. explaining 5100s specs and he says they are made in the USA. I bought mine on ebay and hence the question, anyone here noticed where their shocks are made?

After installing the Bilstein 5100 at 3#circlip and had the truck aligned I can say that it rides great. On the highway it rides like a caddy, really smooth.
