I currently have the OV Tune on my 3rd gen. I got it a couple years ago. I met up with someone off Facebook and got my truck flashed. It solved my problem of gear hunting...but it created a new problem. When taking off from a stop light the throttle doesn't respond when I first begin pushing the gas pedal then once it does respond it is jumpy...not a smooth easy throttle. Anyone else had that same issue?? I am considering getting the OTT Tune. Will that correct the throttle??

    Thanks in advance.

Ott and I'd say all the other tunes will correct for that. Tunes have come a long way since the OVTune days.

I'm a KDMax tuner, if you're interested I can send you the contact info of your nearest tuner or you can find that info manually on our respective websites

    KDMax: https://kdmaxprotuning.com/locations

    OTT: https://overlandtailor.com/retailer-locations

Along with on our respective Tacoma world threads under the performance section

Is the weird throttle response I described common in the older OV Tunes or is it just mine?

It is common with the older versions of all the tunes.

However because by the way it's written i'm feeling that it's a newer concern compared to when you were initially tuned, I would also recommend cleaning your throttle body. Use either carb cleaner or preferable throttle body cleaner. Don't use brake clean though, it could compromise the throttle body.

If you've never cleaned a throttle body before, "the car care nut" on youtube has an excellent video on how to do it properly on drive by wire vehicles.

It's always been that way. I've just dealt with it.

I would still clean your throttle body as general maintenance but, also a more modern tune will sort you out well for sure.

Stick with OTT. Proven and honest results unlike other options out there trying to cockaroach their way into posts.

100%. More and more customers are confirming their tunes on the dyno. They are quickly finding that what they were told or promised isn't true... and even worse making less power than stock o_O

LOL, yep. Thankfully, more and more are catching on to that fact before giving away that amount of money.

I gotta say, I notice the OTT gang goes into attack mode very easily. Fair enough though, creative marketing does make you and your product stand out which is the idea I guess

came across this thread. ive had the ott founder tuning my truck from day 1 after abandoning the ovt tune bs. best tuning support ever. got my very particularly modded truck to run like a champ. sorry to hear anything but amazing feedback. id urge people to reach out to ott and solve issues. ive been nothing but happy and would refer anyone.
mine is a heavily modified s/c 2nd gen truck fwiw.

I can vouch for OTT as well!
Got my truck tuned a month or more ago and it was far and away the best thing Ive done to my truck.
    100% recommend.
No jerkiness, delay or any other throttle issues. Just great on demand power with 0 gear hunting.

I've been running the OTT tune for awhile now myself. Your OTT patch is pretty cool. If you don't mind me asking, how do you get one.

My Tuner, Master Yota hooked me up!

Ask your tuner if they have any to spare.

Thanks! I'll give him a shout out. By the way, I'm right with you on the OTT tune. Best mod I've done so far. The extra torque between 2000-3000rpm is a huge deal for me. Very noticeable with the MT.
