Good evening. I broke the timing belt on my 98 Tacoma prerunner with the 3.4l. I replaced everything ( t belt, water pump, tensioner and pulley, idler pulley) and I reset the timing. It won't start it only cranks. Could I have set the crank timing mark wrong. Thanks for any help

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow. Guessing you are missing the bang. Check for ignition firing and fuel pressure.

Yes. You could have. But we can't tell from here.

Did you use a specific procedure to align everything properly?

I turned the cams by hand to align the timing marks. I also turned the crank until it align on the zero mark. I didn't align in it by the inner timing mark. I had forgotten about the inner mark. I also found out later about the 2:1 ratio with the pulleys.

If timing is good you could have damaged the cam or crank sensor as the wiring runs inside the timing belt cover

I bet your 2:1 raito is off, if you didn't set TDC with the cams then your timing is off. Double check your TDC with your crank.

Might want to chech the cam and crank sensors as well.
