I am trying to instal LED Lights on my 1996 Tacoma but having issues getting the LEDs to work. The old lights work just fine with no issue but going with LED for better lights during long night drives in the super dark mountains.

While they fit really really well they won’t turn on when plugged into the existing plug. When I attach the LED headlight straight to the battery they work. Same with the original headlights. The issue is they don’t work when plugged into the existing plug. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Toyota uses a ground signal to turn on lights, were you lights are probably wired with one ground and 2 positive wires. Instead of 2 grounds and one positive wire. See page 13 of the wiring diagram I attached. You can make them work with some additional relays.

That makes since. For the price of a relay would it pay to just get a H4 headlight relay harness kit from Amazon for almost the same price? Would that also fix the issue or would it still be the same issue?

Have a link to the bulbs and harness?

That’s exactly the one. Would it bypass the issue or would it be the same issue?

That would fix your issue. You could use your new led lights with it.

Meacnicjon's suggested fix worked great. Just installed some retrobright headlights and they needed the relay. Super easy install and we're back in business. Thanks for the help.
