    2015 Access Cab 2WD
Hello - I recently inherited a 2015 2WD Access Cab long bed with the 4 cyl 2.7 engine. Only 9K miles when I picked it up. Have been reading up on this forum and thankful for all of the info. I've got a large pickup (1994 Dodge 3/4 ton long bed Cummins diesel) to do heavy hauling, so this truck will now become my daily driver and I love it. The Tacoma is a basic model that fit my parents needs. In the last couple of weeks I've added a backup camera, cruise control, intermittent wipers, catalytic converter guard and a locking tailgate latch (I live in the San Francisco area). I was shocked to find that all of the wiring was already there and how simple it was. Other than the slight lack of HP, I'm hearing very good things about the reliability of the 2.7 and am stoked.

Most recent issue was yesterday after visiting my mom, I found a rat had made a nest on top of my engine and had torn up my air intake filter, cabin air filter and chewed some wires. Ug!!!!! Had to splice some wires before I could drive back home. Curious what do you guys do to prevent this? I took off the inner fender liner on the right front and it was full of about 10 pounds of acorns/leaves and rat shit. So I suspect they had been getting in for months while it was parked at my moms previously. IMG_3292.jpg

"Mouse blocker" can be installed easily in the engine compartment. Worked great for my wife's.
