Question as to how you did that-did you remove the head and install them with new head gasket? I ended up replacing my head bolts with ARP studs on my boosted saturn sc2 with one-by-one removing the bolt, then installing the stud and washer/nut, etc. in reverse order and I've had no issues. Just wondering if you did it that way as well.

Curious-did you experience a head-gasket issue while boosting 10psi, thus installing the ARP's?

I’ve done it both ways. I welded an extension on the thread chaser to clean out the holes and install studs without doing the head gasket. So yeah if your head gasket hasn’t failed yet, definitely go that route.

yes mine ruined two gaskets on two different motors after about 5k miles each with the stock head bolts. Replaced with ARP studs and haven’t had an issue since. Definitely add these before adding boost or it may turn into a head gasket job sooner than later

That is GOOD information to know beforehand! Thank you for chiming in and giving that all important heads up! To save me time, would you know the part number off hand?

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
After another year, many headaches and 17,000 revisions we have ended up with the below.

    The Biggest Changes:
    Custom Traum Pistons (9:1)
    Custom Turbo Manifold
Custom Intake Plenum (3L Volume + 75mm Throttle body)
LCE +1 Intake and Exhaust Valves
    Stage 1 Ported Head.
    1000cc Injectors + 05Taco4x4 Fuel rail.
    Deatschwerks DW650iL Fuel pump(PWM Controlled)
    Comp Turbo 2871 (.60ar)

    Balance shaft delete kit
    AEM Smart Coils
    ARP (Head, Main, Exhaust)
    Mishimoto Oil cooler
    Accusump Oil Accumulator

    Haltech PD16
    Purepower Lifetime Oil Filter

    HALTECH EVERYTHING !!
    All Sensors
    Wideband
    Custom Harness
    Elite 1500
    PDM16

This setup should he good for 500whp if we turn up the boost. I am looking for a reliable 350hp.
Please let me know if you guys would like to know anything else about the build.

sounds like Valve float most likely. not enough time for the valve to close, if not a timing issue?
