How important is the 5 th gear oiler and does it see a lot if force. Can it be super glued back together if you broke a flange?

I'd doubt a super glue would hold. I'd use a polyurethane glue, like gorilla glue, clamp it tight (it'll foam) I'd also wrap it in some kevlar sewing thread around the outside as reinforcement and glue that down too.

And then I'd expect it to break, but I've gotten lucky with that strategy multiple times. (All my laundry basket handles are now attached that way) Obviously clean the part very well before hand, and use gloves so your hand oils don't compromise the bond.

OEM replacements seem to be available and cost in the single digits, the cheap insurance of a new part seems like a no brainer, especially if you are waiting for glue to cure anyways. Easy for me to say of course, just my .02

Every where I've looked shipping is 2 weeks out. I even called my local dealership. I'm not gluing it together, it is dumb that this piece is keeping me from driving my truck

I would try cleaning the beegeezus from it and then using a good 2-part epoxy to hold the pieces together. And maybe include a piece of fiberglass material in the epoxy. If the cable rests on the epoxy I would carefully sand the epoxy down before installing the repaired part.

And in the meantime I would search for a replacement part.

I ordered the part on Saturday on ebay and it showed up today. The guy wrapped it very well and the shipping was really fast. I can start putting it back together tomorrow.
