Just wanted to know what harness I should use for my LED headlights. I had halogen lights before and now I have LEDs. I read somewhere that not upgrading your harness will cause hyper flash and the lights won’t be as bright. Thanks in advance

I believe you're talking about a LED driver. I understand that some LED bulbs that have a built in driver. Which ones, I couldn't say. Google LED driver for headlights and that should get you stated.

Please consider that the headlight buckets in 2nd gen trucks are reflector style. Even with the advent of the newer LED bulbs that have a decent cut-off, Projector style will produce a better output. Which is why quite a few on here have converted the stock reflector buckets to projector.

Generally speaking, there is no need to replace the OEM harness when converting from halogen to LED bulbs. This is because LED bulbs generally draw less power than halogens. It's when you install bulbs that draw more power (amps) than OEM that requires a heavier duty harness. Hyperflash is an issue with directionals, and 4-way flashers utilizing your parking lights and has nothing to do with a harness.

Here's a few threads you might want to take a look at to answer some of your question:

computer looks for power draw from halogen bulb. LEDs use less. Having a resistor waste that energy convert to heat defeats the point.

harness and better bulbs is common cheap upgrade.

Headlight was not designed to have an LED bulb in a halogen housing.
