I tried to find this specific information, but searching here via Google didn't produce. So please point me to this info if it is out there, or provide your personal experience.

Gen 3 (22) with power seats. Can you fit a under-seat powered sub? If so, what ones have folks crammed in there?

Seems with alot more tucked in under there with the power mechanism I assume it needs to be a pretty small unit. I have the seat bottom fully tilted back, so it is tight toward the back. Measuring kinda gave me the impression I might be able to get one of the more compact units under there...

I have eyeballed the JBL Nano, and a few others in that general size. I don't need huge bass or super deep hits, just considering adding a little bass. Worse case I look to a behind the rear seat option which info is plentyful so I can go down that rabbit hole :)

    Thanks!

I can't answer your question, but I can give you a classic test from the popup camper world - the tissue box test. It goes like this. In order to answer "what size mattress can I fit in my camper," one simply puts a tissue box on the bare bed tray and then folds up the camper. Upon opening they inspect and measure the crumpled box, and hey, there's your maximum mattress spec.

Similarly, loosen the seat bolts and slide a 3.5" thick box under there. Preferably something of thin construction, like a tissue box. Bolt the seat down and then raise and lower the power function. Unbolt and measure your crushed height. That's your subwoofer dimension.

i want to say someone attempted it in the 3rd gen general area, and said the motors were too much in the way to allow most amps/subs to fit under there.

there might be some leeway if seat jackers were installed, but i'm not sure. going to be tight either way.

The JBL Nano fits under the driver’s seat and works great in my 21 Tacoma.

Good to know. I don't want to assume those are power seats...can you confirm? If so, I have my bottom tilted back and about halfway back on the tracks, thoughts on that? Did you grab line level from the head unit or?? Thanks!

Yes, powered Driver’s seat. Can’t confirm how the sub will fit with your seat adjustment. I have my seat all the way back with no clearance issues.

Sorry, I’m not clear on your last question. Remote turn on and RCA connectors run to the aftermarket head unit. Power goes straight to the battery.

thanks. you answered it... you're doing RCA off a aftermarket head unit. I am looking to T into the front speaker feeds off the factory non-JBL headunit.
