Manual, still loving it

Shifting is bliss. I've let the tacoma sit since I've been off. Took it out today because 4 days off is too much and shifting is so much better than an automatic. 5600 miles in, besides reverse, I'm glad I went back to the manual. Thank you 2023 tacomer.

 

As much as I want to hate its quirky nature, its great to have a manual truck. Any gen.
Any motor.

 

Love my manual. It transforms the truck from being a boring, anemic hunk of metal into a machine that is quite engaging and fun.

I know people say it’s a truck and you don’t need a stick, but it makes it so much more enjoyable to drive. I imagine living in a rural area enhances the experience since I never run into stop and go traffic.

 

Just plain fun to drive is probably the best way I can describe owning an MT Tacoma. As long as Toyota keeps building the Tacoma with a manual I'll keep buying them.

 

U feel more of a connection to the truck when u have 3 pedals and a stick .

 

Best feature of the truck hands down. Still completely in love with mine 2200 miles in.

 

With a manual I feel like I'm actually driving the truck. With the auto I feel like I'm a passenger behind the steering wheel.

 

Just wait until you put a tune on it.

 

Mine would be tuned by now if my cable weren't lost in shipping and still no recourse, but maybe it's better that it is taking this extra time so I have been able to get to know the truck better and truly appreciate the tune when I can finally flash it. May have to cut my losses and order another cable since 4 months have passed and no one responded when I asked about any updates.

 

Still lovin' it.

Add the locker and crawl up with zero drama when others are beating and bouncing on rocks breaking stuff... what else would you like...

Tacos are heavy vehicles. They move slower than any sports car (which they are not). The manual opens the door to tge power curve which makes them a pleasure to drive...

 

Jealous as hell.

 

For me, the automatic transmission in my truck was the better choice. But, as the title of the post says, I still love throwing my '96 Z3 around the corners. My shift knob captures the emotions....

 

I'm happy with my manual Tacoma and glad that Toyota has continued to make the 4th Gen trucks with manual transmissions.

 

Drove an '06 Frontier 4X4 with a 6-speed manual for 11.5 years and a 165k miles followed by six years in an F150. Glad to be back in a truck with a manual transmission.

 

when i needed to replace my last truck, the criteria were a 4x4, 6' bed, and manual transmission.
