Hello all, im currently on the Fence on trading in My 15 Silverado 1500 for a used Crew Cab Tacoma. Ive had zero issues with my chevy but i know eventually the Lifters and Transmission will fail. My question is has anyone gone from a Full Size truck a regretted it. Im 5’5 have a set of 4yr Twins, how is the backseat room. Thanks

    Yep.

I drove 1/2 ton trucks until my youngest graduated from high school in 2007 before buying a Tacoma. My son was 5'3" and 130 lbs in 7th grade. By the time he was in 10th grade he was 6'3", 230 lbs and wore a size 13 shoe. He would not fit in the back of a crew cab Tacoma.

Even at that 9 years later I had several grandkids, and I again needed a 1/2 ton crew cab. In 2016 I bought a 2 year old 2014 F150 crew cab. At the time I could have traded my Tacoma for a new 2016 Ford or keep the Tacoma and buy a used 2014 Ford. It was going to be about the same money out of pocket either way. I decided to buy a used Ford and keep the Tacoma as a 3rd vehicle.

For now keep the truck you have or if you're concerned about reliability trade for another 1/2 ton crew cab.

There is not much room in the back seat. I know it is tight when I haul my grandchildren in the back. For an adult it is very uncomfortable. I would keep your Chevy. As said in one post the kids are only going to grow. If I had it to do over again, I would go with a Tundra or other full-size P/U.

Many pull the rear seats of a double cab because of the limited room and custom-built dog platforms, or sliding refrigerator platforms, or ...

Wish I knew this before buying the Tacoma. It’s tight with the baby in the back. And when the wife has to get in there, I have to scoot the seat all the way forward it seems.

I have the same thought and problem when my wife is in the back with the 4-year-old granddaughter.
