    howdy folks
I am having an issue with my 2012 prerunner sr5 2 wheel drive
    xm radio
both door speaker on left side no audio
drivers door tweeter is the only speaker working
synced iPhone 6s plus to blue tooth
    no changes to head-unit settings
yes i have checked balance and faded are centered.:p

inspected driver door harness no damage or pinched wires.
inspected rear driver door nothing damaged or pinched .
pulled head unit and swapped with known working still same issue.
pulled radio fuse to reset radio no change.
inspected radio harness and no damage pinched wires.

so after doing some digging i cant seem to find to locate the stock amp
my question is does anyone know the location of the stock amp?
under the dash somewhere? or is it built in to the unit ?
if that be the case could it be bypassed ?
the speakers are obviously getting signal but not enough power to push the drivers

    thanks folks

    Is it the JBL system?

If so, amp is by the factory sub behind the passenger side back seat (Then behind some plastic panels)

However, it is very likely NOT the amp.

Is the tweeter on the upper part of the door still playing?

Then there’s no amp. Radio and 6 speakers.

Front door woofer and tweeter are wired in parallel together so if the tweeter is playing, that means the radio is putting out power. So that means your speaker is dead. Surprisingly common.

Wait, I must have misread the first post, it’s a bit confusing. Can you clarify what’s going on?

The speakers are made of paper and they’re 10 years old. Time for some new ones

I am having the exact same problem after changing out the head unit in my 2012 4WD. Did any of you manage to figure out the root cause of the issue?

Did you change out the speakers with the new head unit ? The factory speakers are garbage, so time to give them an upgrade.
