Hello I’ve just had new wheel bearings put on the truck and the passenger side is fine but the driver side is making a scratching noise like metal on metal anyone know what it may be

Could be a lot of things but to do bearings the dust shield has to come off.
Maybe they bent it (dust shield) and it's hitting the rotor.

Jack that corner up and spin that wheel by hand.

    Report back what you find.

I don't know if I'd use that mechanic in the future. Seems kind of lazy.

That is an easy fix. Why doesn't he try to keep you happy by making the noise go away?

It's not hurting anything the way it is, but I don't think it's gonna "burn" away.

    "Burn off" lol

Crawl under there and gently bend the dirt shield away from the rotor, see if that helps. Hopefully he didn't leave a caliper bolt loose or something

Lazy mechanic. ANY decent shop would take the 5 minutes needed to zip off the wheel, bend the dust cover back properly, and then replace the wheel and torque to spec. THAT is how you keep a happy customer.

Paid with a 12 pack type mechanic? Those are usually backyard mechanic's advice, issue will self resolve.

I’ve had this happen. They are usually pretty easy to bend away from the brake disk.
