I have run Geolanders on two previous trucks and one car. I never had any issues. They are a good tire. I presently have been running TOYO's the last couple sets and am real happy with them also. Good Luck

Maybe Toyotas are harder to balance for, but I doubt it. My truck came with KO2s on it, I swapped those to Toyo ATIIIs, no issues. Swapped the wheels from Semas to Sport wheels while reusing the Toyos, still no issues. Swapped the first set of Toyos for a second larger set of Toyos, again, no issues.

So either the Discount I go to is really good (or Toyos just balance super well or both), or the statement about Toyotas being harder to balance tires for might just be crap. Or maybe all the above.

I have the Geolandars and have been very pleased. And the vibration if it wasn't there before wouldn't be the truck. It would be a tire defect. A vehicle brand wouldn't be a reason for a vibration. Tire defect or bent wheel would be the most common, if the tech did his part correctly

I do think Tacoma's have a smaller window of acceptable balance. If you check on the 4runners forums, they have the same issues, actually worse. Hence why a road force balance seems to fix the issue for many.

There are hundreds of posts on here about balancing issues. There has to be some truth to it.

A road force balance helps because its the weight of the chosen vehicle on the wheel/tire. It's not balancing the vehicle, its balancing the wheel/tire. The larger the tire, the more you are moving weight away from the lip of the wheel, the more noticeable a balance issue will become. It happens all the time in car sizes as well, it's just less noticeable until its really bad. Fords, Dodges, Chevys, Nissans, Rivians etc will all be affected by tire irregularities. The tire tech plays a big tole here as well, understanding what needs to happen to ensure the best possible outcome, and understanding that some new tires are just too bad to balance and should be replaced

Tire balance issues seem to be from the same brands and tires every time. Meanwhile there are other tires that are successful every time. I don’t think it’s the truck.

Most the issues seem to stem from KO2s and wildpeaks which are prob the 2 most popular tires people run on Tacoma's.

Both my 2nd and 3rd gen were difficult to get rid of highway shake from the tires. A set of wildpeaks and a set of ridge grapplers.

Both were remedied with a road force balance at the dealer.

Never had balance issues like this with any other of the vehicles I've owned. Everything from sports cars to HD trucks.

Plenty of posts on here too from the trucks shaking brand new right off the lot. Same issues with 4runner which have almost an identical front suspension set up.

First off, I was a manager for an automotive performance shop, we did tires all the time. Toyotas were easy to balance for, no vehicle is "pickier" than another. I did Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, etc with zero issues. It's all about doing the balance right. It is true that some tires ride better than others, just depends on the tire. I never had a bad ride with Hankooks though, and we sold a bunch of them of all types. I can definitely tell you it wasn't the truck, and them moving the tire around is just bullsh*t. What are you supposed to do when you rotate your tires, keep that one there? If the steering wheel is vibrating, it's the front. If you feel it in your butt, it's the rear. Ultimately, a Road Force balance will tell the tech if the tire is bad, or if it just needs a better balance. When it's on the balancer you can see if the tire is out of round, but Road Force is more accurate.

I bought Yokohama Geolandar A/T tires for my 1949 Willys wagon 4x4 a year ago stock wheels for 4x4 mostly & they work fine from Discount Tire. No balancing issues.
Thinking about replacing my stock Goodyear Wrangers A/T tires with the same for my 2022 Tacoma. The stock Goodyears seem to wander or squishy sidewalls on the freeway. . .
Update - last week, Discount Tire boosted my tires PSI to 36 on all four. Rides a bit better now on the stock Goodyears . . . we will see. 10.5K miles.
